Salt Lake Comic Con!

I’ll be at Salt Lake Comic Con this Thursday through Saturday, and nothing I’ll be doing has anything to do with this webcomic — or with comics at all! Thursday
5pm: Movies So Bad, They’re Awesome 8pm: HP Lovecraft: Is His Work Still Relevant in the 21st Century?
Friday
6pm: Monsters: Should the Classic Ones be Updated? Where are the New Monsters? 8pm: Warm Bodies, World War Z & the Walking Dead: Why Zombies Won’t Go Away and What that Means About the Impending Zombie Apocalypse
Saturday
11am: The Appeal of Horror: Why We Like To Be Scared 4pm: Self-Publishing vs. Small Press vs. Big Publishers: Which is Best? 7pm: Effective Horror: What Works, What Doesn’t, and Why?
Nevertheless, you should attend, and maybe sneakily ask me about CheapCaffeine.net at all those unrelated panels so I can slip in a mention.

The mystery strip.

O, the frabjous foibles of behind-the-scenes cartooning! A week ago or more, I was working on strips at home before leaving for my day job. Uncommonly productive, I had finished one and started another, getting as far as this before I had to save and shut down: strip-extra I think you can see where this is going. On Saturday, as I was prepping this week’s strips to schedule, I discovered this unfinished strip… and I have no idea where I was going with it.  None.  I do know that the strip idea was a spur-of-the-moment whim, not an idea I had jotted down in my notebook, but beyond that, nothing.  Not even the penumbra of a shadow of a recollection of this gag. It probably would have been one of my funniest ever, too.

Appearing at CONduit.

If y’all are in the Utah area over the Memorial Day weekend, you can find me at CONduit in Salt Lake City May 24-26 at my table in the dealers room.  I won’t have any CheapCaffeine.net merchandise (because, you know, there isn’t any), but I will have hardcopies of several books from Cold Fusion Media and several bottled creatures that I’ve been documenting on my blog.  (I’ll also be on several panels, but since the powers that be still haven’t published a schedule, I don’t know what they are or when they’ll be.

Whoopsie-daisy.

World’s most professional webcartoonist! I got all the comics ready for last week, and then neglected to post them. Whoops! So much for my reputed punctuality.  I hope your week has not been otherwise devoid of mirth.
