Edgar Allan Poe’s Eureka: A Prose Poem laid out a grandeous scheme of creation/evolution ending with all sentient intelligences uniting as the One that rent Itself asunder in the beginning (only to start again as the pulse of the Heart of God) in what Sir Arthur Eddington described as the earliest description of the Big Bang cycle.
He had such dreams for human intelligence. Good thing Poe did not live to see cat memes. On the other hand, he did like cats.
