Commiseration. I’ve had Fridays like that.
“What don’t you know and when didn’t you know it?!”
This is basically how the Cardassian “justice” system works, of course.
‘Bashir: The trouble with Cardassian enigma tales is that they all end the same way: all the suspects are always guilty. Garak: Yes! But the challenge is determining exactly who is guilty of what.’
Legate Damar: It is my duty to inform you that you will be turned over to a Cardassian tribunal, where you will be tried as war criminals.
Ezri Dax: War criminals? What are the charges?
Legate Damar: That is not necessary for you to know. All you need to know is that you will be found guilty and executed.
The Cardassian justice system is very efficient. They never waste time prosecuting the innocent, only the guilty.
