I think the new generation calls them “entitlements”.
(FTR: I got an allowance in the late 1950s, early 1960s. I helped dad mowing the yard and stuff and helped mom take care of the house and siblings. But I never actually made a connection between doing my family duties and getting the allowance.)
… and those brats can pay for it out of their allowances!
