“Mother Mary” being just Paul McCartney’s mother who happened to be named Mary does explain why the not-known-to-be-all-that-religious Beatles would go singing stuff like that. Of course, that he would be singing so reverently about his mother’s advice makes one wonder what kind of mommy issues he might have had…
