Of peripheral note: There is a film composer named “Alexandre Desplat,” which is one of the coolest names ever. I would love for him to score a slasher movie, and be credited as “Alexandre Desplatter.”

Kinda makes me think of the Roman biographer Suetonius toward the end of his biography for Emperor Caligula, in which he notes that some people took the play Caligula was watching (involving a very bloody end for a highway robber) on the last night he was alive as some kind of prophetic omen for the way his life was imminently due to end. This being the bloodthirsty megalomaniac Emperor Caligula who enjoyed (if the biography is to be believed) arranging the cruelest possible deaths he could devise for his numerous victims, I couldn’t help thinking “Sounds to me more like the playwright and actors subscribed heavily to giving the customer what he wants!”
