    So for those of you who knew our Bill, and knew him all too well,
    Take this opportunity to bid him fond farewell;
    And if old Bill is looking in, I’m sure that he’ll agree:
    Today he’s made this troubled world a better place to be,

    ‘Cause if Heaven is pleased when sinners cease to sin,
    If the Devil is pleased when another soul comes in,
    If the Earth is glad to be rid of a knave,
    Well, then everybody’s happy now that Bill is in his grave.
